Program Model

We believe that the education of English Learners (ELs) isn’t the job of a few, but rather is the responsibility of all the adults that students encounter–teachers, school leaders, staff, family members, and the community at large.

Recognizing the value for all of our program participants to learn with and from each other, our program uses research-informed practices to move multiculturalism and multilingualism from the margin to the mainstream. When the needs and contributions of ELs are considered in every single conversation about instruction, extracurricular activities, parent involvement, attendance, and higher education, it not only improves the school experiences of ELs and their native-English-speaking classmates, but also prepares them to become global citizens who are knowledgeable and skilled in communication, collaboration, and understanding.
